Hopeless Secretary Oh (5)

“Sorry for asking you this kind of favour. I was about to reject it, but then Senior Mi-jin looks like in urgent.”

Jung-rok threw a gaze to that woman who spoke while shaking her head and smiling brightly.

 “Seems like the news about you being a great lawyer was heard by her. You knew about the news, didn’t you? That Senior Mi-jin is married to a good family.”

“Which company is it?”

“RA Group Architect Company.”

“It would a little bit hard then.”

“Well….. Anyway, Senior Mi-jin will give you a call. Gosh, what did I do? I even ordered someone busy like you to come to here.”

As soon as that woman apologized to him, Jung-rok smirked.

“That’s okay. You’re not someone else. It’s you after all.”

“Wow, I’m touched.”

“How’s Prosecutor Kang doing?”

Hearing those words, that woman’s eyes were waving a little bit.

That woman looked at Jung-rok who was waiting for her answer, she then made an exaggerated hand gesture.

“Gosh, don’t even mention him. That guy had a fight with me lately so we’re not talking to each other now. So hurtful.”

Jung-rok gave a bitter smile when he saw that response from that woman, even though she was complaining about the guy mentioned, Jung-rok could see that there was affection there. And for somehow, his heart hurt by that.

“By the way, Mr. Kwon Jung-rok.”

Jung-rok’s mouth was sealed but then his expression changed, he stared at that woman who’s attitude suddenly changed in a flash.

Sure enough, Jung-rok felt like his stomach was pricked seeing that woman smirked and narrowed her eyes.

“What is it?”

“Hahaha. You punk, I heard the news.”

“…….What?”

“I heard that something very interesting happened to you.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I heard the news already. That you got a very big luck….”

Jung-rok’s face was stiffen, with a confuse look in his eyes he looked at that woman who laughed with a small voice.

That moment, an annoying face suddenly occurred in his mind.

He was about to erase Oh Yoon-seo’s smiling face from his head but then this woman in front of him brought her topic again, Jung-rok then made a long face at her.

“You heard the news too there?”

“Yeah. Yoon-hyuk ssi told me the news.”

“……….Hmmm.”

Choi Yoon-hyuk, you bastard. You surely can’t shut your mouth.

News about an actress who was on a temporary hiatus becoming his secretary was supposed to be a very top secret. CEO Yeon even had a meeting before Oh Yoon-seo’s first day of work on how all staffs weren’t allowed to spill the news.

“Don’t worry. I’ll keep it secret.”

That woman whispered those words to Jung-rok who was showing an awkward look. He was sure that the woman who’s sitting in front of him wasn’t the type who would spread the rumor around.

Jung-rok gave a bitter smile and answered her.

“I know.”

You’re not the type who would gossiping around about this kind of stuff.

“By the way….. How is it?”

Once again, Jung-rok was confused seeing those gaze Yeo-reum gave him.

“What?”

A teasing smile was covering Yeo-reum’s whole face.

“I mean Oh Yoon-seo. Is she really pretty? Just like we see on TV? Or is she prettier in person? Is she really the prettiest woman in Korea? How big her eyes are? Does she have long legs? How about her chest? Hey you! I’m curious to death you know! How does it feel to work with a celebrity?”

“………….”

“Why?! I’m just curious about it!”

Jung-rok took a deep sigh seeing those shining look on Yeo-reum’s eyes.

[Nice to meet you, Mr. Kwon Jung-rok. I’m Oh Yoon-seo.]

We couldn’t argue that many people knew that woman’s face, not just most people, but all Korea citizens knew her.   

But despite all that….

“She’s hopeless.”

Yeo-reum who was waiting for his answer threw a surprised and suspicious gaze to Jung-rok.

“She’s totally hopeless.”

“Hopeless?”
‘Yeah. She can’t do anything. She’s the most hopeless one among hopeless people.’

Jung-rok shuddered.

Seeing his action, Yeo-reum stayed still for a moment, she looked at him suspiciously then smirked.

“No way she’s like that. Hopeless my foot. Come to think of it, I think Oh Yoon-seo ssi is our junior.”

“Junior my foot. We have a big age gap with that woman. We even had never had a class together.”

“Really? But still, it’s not easy to be accepted into our college. Especially for our major, people should be really smart.”

“I bet she was just lucky. There are a lot of other people who really accepted and did well on their SAT.”

“What’s wrong with you, Kwon Jung-rok? Do you by any chance have thorn or something? Do you have a hard feeling for Oh Yoon-seo ssi? Why are you so cruel like that?”

“Is there any law or something that say to give a special treatment to Oh Yoon-seo?”

“What?”

“I’ll get going. I’ll buy you some meals next time.”

Jung-rok left Yeo-reum who was confused by his words, and without looking back he headed to his office directly.

Yeo-reum was about to say something, she already opened her mouth but unfortunately Jung-rok had already leave.

‘Oh Yoon-seo. Oh Yoon-seo everywhere.’

It hurt his head. Jung-rok scowled his face and pressed his car key hard. When he finished checking the sound and closed the door, he headed to elevator that was connected with the underground parking lot.

‘It’s annoying.’

He lost count on how many times people asked about that woman to him today. It was supposed to be a top secret but then it seems like all the employees already knew about her being his secretary.

‘If I knew it would be this annoying, I’d just pack up and leave.’

If only he didn’t have a debt to pay in the past to CEO Yeon, he wouldn’t want to do this.

As soon as he arrived in the office building, he pressed the button for floor 15. His head hurt.

“……….!”

It was 11:15 now.

Jung-rok was late. He met his friend, Yeo-reum, who was working at Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. He told Yoon-hyuk’s secretary, Eun-ji in advance about it, not to his own secretary. He froze when the elevator door opened.

That woman.

She, who never paid attention about work at all, today as well was surrounded by a lot of male lawyers.

‘Secretary my foot.’

Somehow, Jung-rok thought that she came to Always Law Firm not for the sake of her future job but to seduce those single male lawyers.

While listening to those male lawyers’ words, Jung-rok leering to her and headed directly to his own office.

“Oh? Mr. Kwon!”

During situation like this, Jung-rok would rather disappear than being discovered by Jin-shim with all those men around. He scowled his face. And at that time she even had the audacity to open up her mouth.

“You’re late today.”

 He said those words to her yesterday, but then Hopeless Jin-shim showed him a cheerful face now.

‘Is it because she really has a nice personality or she’s really stupid?’

 Jung-rok just stayed still and looked back at Jin-shim when she walked to him despite the fact that all his male lawyer workmates threw a fierce look at him.

“I was working outside.”

“What? Working outside……. Ah, I see.”

Jin-shim smiled awkwardly when she heard those words Jung-rok said.

Jung-rok looked at her with a cold gaze before he finally turned his body away from her. But before that he caught something with his fierce gaze.

“It’s better now.”

“Sorry?”

‘………..Ah, darn it.’

Mistake. The biggest mistake.

Without knowing, Jung-rok just let those words slipped from his lips. He rolled his eyes realizing his mistake.

His ears turned red, with a shy look on his face he faced that woman and looked at her. Jung-rok tried to managed himself, acting normal he started to speak to Jin-shim.

“Your outfit is better than yesterday, Ms. Oh Jin-shim Jin-shim.”

Those outfits that hurt his eyes from yesterday were nowhere to be seen now. She looked like other secretary now. Or should he call it looked more covering instead?

 She wore a skirt that was covered her thigh and knee.

“Re…really?”

Jin-shim smiled for she was happy to hear those words from him.

Seeing her tried so hard to hide her expression and eyes for being happy made Jung-rok understood why she was labeled as the one who cannot act.

He turned his body away from her without a word, heading back to his office. Jin-shim followed him behind.

“What is it?”

“What?”

“Didn’t you following me here to say something, Ms. Oh Jin-shim Jin-shim?”

He could sense her presence behind him and he decided to ignore her. But then the voice from her high heel she wore was heard by him. He put his briefcase on his desk, faced her and said those words to her.

Jin-shim was startled hearing the shadiness in his voice, she then pointed her finger to his desk.

Jung-rok moved his gaze to the direction of her finger. Jin-shim opened up her mouth.

“Oo……… When you weren’t around I thought I should do some cleaning.”

‘Cleaning?’

Jung-rok stared at Jin-shim who was speaking to him shyly.

“I still know nothing about this work, so it would be hard for me to organize the documents….. I was thinking hard about what should I do to help you, then I saw those name cards were scattered in your desk. I wanted to help you, so without being asked and without you around I tidied them up. What do you think? I looked up on the internet and found out that it would help when it is organized up like this….”

“Why…….”

“What?”

“Why did you touch other people’s things?”

“………!”

Those screams from Jung-rok turned Jin-shim’s face white.

With an annoying look on his face Jung-rok glanced at the box that was filled with name cards.

Jung-rok was the type who didn’t like his things to be touched by strangers. But she had her own way, if the name cards were put like that, when he sit in front of his desk, those name cards would be easy to be reached out by his hand. It would be convenient.

Jung-rok frowned from his anger.

“Why do something that wasn’t asked?!”

“Ah….Mr…..Kwon. It’s not like that, I just want to help…….”

“I don’t need your help, Ms. Oh Jin-shim Jin-shim!”

With quivering lips Jung-rok said those words he hid in his heart before to that woman.

“After all, you won’t even be here in 6 months, helping my foot. You sit in your seat and go out from my office would really help me.”

“………...!”

“Please don’t do something like this anymore in the future.”

“……….”

“Please leave.”

Jung-rok pretended to not see how Jin-shim bit her lips hard, he just turned away his head and waved his hand to kicked her out from his office.

He didn’t take a proper look on that box full of name cards that she had tidied up, but he was sure it would be a mess. He took a deep breath and sigh thinking about the work he should do to organize it back. Jung-rok wrinkled his forehead when he found out that Jin-shim was still stood there.

“You’re still here?”

“Mr. Kwon.”

“What is it?”

Hearing such blunt answer from Jung-rok, Jin-shim was flinched. She stared at him and opened up her mouth.

“Mr. Kwon.”

‘Just say it.’

He was disturbed by Jin-shim who was without shame just stood still there despite the fact that he asked her to leave his office. With a cold and disturbed look on his face Jung-rok stared back at her. Jin-shim started to speak with hesitation.

“Do you perhaps hate women?”

“What do you mean?”

No way it was just a joking question. Jung-rok took a deep breath and stared at Jin-shim. With a complicated feeling she had, she bit her lips once again and then continued.

“Do you hate women or do you hate me?”

“………..!”

“This is the first time someone treat me like this.”

Her voice was shaking, but somehow Jung-rok didn’t stop her from speaking.

Jin-shim had other things to say.

“I…. I also want to do my best. Rather than being mad at me, it would be nice if you tell me what to do!”

“………”

“I…. I’m not stupid person like you thought, Mr. Kwon!”

Jung-rok saw that woman’s eyes who was screaming at him were wavering. But Jin-shim didn’t stop.

“Today as well, you didn’t even tell me that you’d be working outside….. I was scared I would be late that I run so….. Gosh!”

He was startled by those words she said.

Jung-rok studied the woman in front of him who was now shut her lips. He hissed.

‘Yeah, I know. You’re late again today.’

He was thankful that he should working outside before. Without realizing it, Jung-rok walked toward Jin-shim who was standing in front of him.

“Ms. Oh Jin-shim Jin-shim.”

“It’s Oh Yoon-seo!”

“Ms. Oh Jin-shim Jin-shim.”

Firmly. He glared at her.

‘Irritating woman.’

Jung-rok took a deep breath and smirked. Seeing his face suddenly turned bright like that, Jin-shim opened her eyes widely in shocked. He bent down slightly and stared at her.

“What, what are you doing………?”

“I’m sorry I don’t meet your expectation, but I like women. I like them a lot. I really do.”

Pit-a-pat. Jin-shim could hear her own heart beat that seem like pumping hard. Jin-shim was startled to be that close with him to the point that she felt like it was hard to breathe.

Jung-rok stared directly at her eyes, she was shivering. He then went back to his position.

“It’s just that I’m not interested at all in you, Ms. Oh Jin-shim Jin-shim.”

“………!”

“So, can you please stop disturbing me and just leave already? Like you see, I’m a busy person.
