Hopeless Secretary Oh (4)

Tick tock tick tock

The time of the experience as a secretary at Always Law Firm was passing by.

[Oh Yoon-seo, Fighting!]

At least this was the normal one, Hyuk-joon brought a beige color shirt while clenched his fists and shouted. He think Jin-shim would be okay if she changed her outfit with that.

But difference from his expectation, her boss laughed at her.

That was not enough........

[There’s really nothing you can do, Ms. Oh Jin-shim]

She must accepted that scornful gaze again.

Kkok kkok. Her heart felt tingly. Of course it’s her fault that cause all the problem a moment ago. That’s why she couldn't lift her head and dropped her shoulder now. But, she won’t get used with that gaze anymore.

She breathe out and lower her head.

‘I’m scared.....’

A cold gaze. It wasn't only because the gaze from Kwon Jung-rok’s eyes scared her. She got that gaze since a while ago. No, even now she still get that gaze. That’s the proper reason.

[It’s not easy to recovery a stained image. Especially in this industry, even the small scandal it can be shaken well. But you heard that, right? There’s an actress like Jang Chae Won too. They’re much worse than us. But, you know we’ve reached the top, right? Believe me. If our Jin-shim show a good acting than before in this Writer Lee’s drama, the public who turned around slowly will opened their heart again. At first, it’s not our fault, right?]

To gave her courage, CEO Yeon used his flowery word to cheering her up.

Jin-shim nod her head which mean she agreed and get motivated with his words.

Right. I’ll learned about secretary’s job at Law Firm, and then I’ll save the experience. If I were casted in the drama, public would not called me with ‘represent of bad acting’ anymore.

However, the first button is done wrong. Jin-shim feels that her boss completely ignored her.

“It’s the first day though....’

‘Tomorrow I’ll starting properly again. This is the last chance. I have to gather my self up this time.’

Jin-shim lifted her head up. She must back to home quickly and searching trough the internet what exactly secretary of Law Firm do.

Jin-shim stood up suddenly from her seat when she found the time already 7 PM. She was wearing a white coat and shirt that Hyuk-joon brought to her. Lastly, she turned her head around once again.

Lawyer Kwon Jung-rok was working outside the whole time since lunch time. The light in his office turned off.

She remembered Jung-rok’s words to leave the office at 7 PM. She stepped out into the corridor and walk towards elevator. She shouted a little when a familiar face appeared between elevator doors.

“Ah.”

Jung-rok was standing inside elevator and touching his necktie. He looked so tired.

“Oh, Law...”

“Are you getting off work?”

“Uh? Ah... Yes!”

She grinned. Her smile was so beautiful almost every people falling in love with her smile. She tried her best to smile brightly.

He looked her up and down and take his eyes heartless.

“Okay. Bye. I wish you never come back, but.. yeah.”

“...........!”

“If there’s luck, see you tomorrow.”

Jin-shim starred at Jung-rok ridiculously.

Even though her reaction ridiculous, his sharp words continued.

“I’ve been watching you today, it’s look like you’re not going to work at 8 AM tomorrow. But at least, you must arrived before lunch time. Then.”

Jung-rok leave Jin-shim who still flustered with his words. Jung-rok go out from elevator and walked to his office.

Jin-shim had leave Kwon Jung-rok’s office with the light turn off. When he entered, the office become bright. Her face frowned.

“That... that jerk!”

Even though today just the first day. Just the first impression, somehow it’s like she can’t be closed with that person.

“Oh?”

Hyuk-joon opened the gate and started walking inside the house. His eyes turned to suspicious.

Jin-shim’s favourite red shoes were still at doorsteps and she didn’t seen to wear another shoes to going out. He felt there was something happening.

Hyuk-joon felt suspicious. He kept looking around and started to knock the closest door.

First, from the bathroom.

“Yoon-seo?”

Bedroom and Dressroom

“Oh Yoon-seo?”

Guestroom

“Yoon-seo. Are you here?”

And then a room that Jin-shim didn’t want to enter. Study room.

“Oh Yoon-seo..... Huk!”

One place, one place just in case when Hyuk-joon opened the study room his eyes wide open. Although not many books on her luxurious desk, at the other side, he found someone who lie down infront of computer.

Hyuk-joon with his flustered face approached her. She was still sleeping.

“Yoon-seo? Oh Yoon-seo!”

“Uhm.......”

“Get up. Get up. Yoon-seo!”

He had been worked with her for 10 years, but this is the first time he saw her sleeping on the table like this. Usually she even couldn’t sleep if not in proper position.

Because in her terms of a contract there was ‘let her sleep properly’, Hyuk-joon was busy to wake her up.

She moved her beautiful forehead several times and finally she turned her neck to the side.

“Ah.. you are here oppa?

Hooaaamm. She opened her mouth so big and yawned. She’s relaxed, too relaxed.

“What are doing till you fall a sleep here? You hate coming to study room, aren’t you?”

She trembled when it comes to study. There was a condition if she wanted to working in entertainment industry, she has to entered the collage. For few months, she spent her time at study room day and night. When she moved, she said that study room just for interior and asked Hyuk-joon to buy some books. Jin-shim laughed awkwardly and still half awake.

“Nothing important… just.”

Hehe. She stared at Hyuk-joon with her big smile. Hyuk-joon felt bad when he looked at her. He shook his head and want to say something, but he accidentally touch the mouse. The monitor turned bright in a flash from a black screen.

Hyuk-joon was surprised when he saw the page on the monitor.

“Yoon-seo, You…”

“Huk! O, Oppa!”

Hyuk-joon couldn’t take off his eyes from the monitor. Jin-shim was pretend to know nothing and she remembered something then breathe in.

Hyuk-joon took a step backward when Jin-shim stood up from her seat suddenly. Hyuk-joon stared at Jin-shim as if she had something big happened.

She asked urgently.

“What, What time is it now?”

“Ah. 8 AM.”

“Why didn’t you tell me earlier!”

“What?”

“I’m late! Ah, What should I do. First, I’ll shower and please prepared the clothes that i wrote in that memo.

“What?”

Hyuk-joon with his tearful face looked at something on the table that Jin-shim pointed at. He lowered his head and staring at Jin-shim who left the room fast.

There was a memo at the place that Jin-shim pointed. Hyuk-joon picked that up and smiled.

[Proper Secretary’s Look: H-line black skirt, white shirt, black suit and black shoes (It must a black shoes!)]

“Why didn’t you wear that coat yesterday?”

Hyuk-joon asked a question toward Jin-shim who wore sunglasses and seated at passenger seat. His question maked her upset.

“Don’t you dare to ask about that coat again! I won’t wear it again!”

“Why? That’s really warm though.”

“Oppa! Drop me there please!”

“Not entered parking lot?”

“No. I’ll run from here.”

Hyuk-joon nodded his head while looking sideways at Jin-shim. He was hesitated but turn the handle.

He was suprised enough to see the great Oh Yoon-seo prepared a proper secretary’s look by herself, and now she ran by herself. Is she really Oh Yoon-seo he knew?

She didn’t care what Hyuk-joon though about her and just stared outside the window. As soon as the car stopped, she get off and say goodbye trough the window and lifted her head.

Her new office could be seen after walk around 3 minutes. Jin-shim took a deep breath and wear sunglasses in her hand and started to run.

“Haah. Haah.”

‘My feet hurts.......’

She wore a black shoes, even though it’s not a high heels but the heel pretty thick. Because she only had shoes with a high heels, she asked Hyuk-joon to bring her a comfortably shoes. She made a frowned face when the sign from her sole while running.

But she couldn’t delay the time anymore.

[I’ve been watching you today, it’s look like you’re not going to work at 8 AM tomorrow. But at least, you must arrived before lunch time.]

The cold words from him turned into real like what he said.

She felt desperate when the watch in her wrist pointed at 9.30 AM. Her speed became slow but she speed up again.

“It’s so far.”

When she got off from Hyuk-joon’s car, the building look so near but when she run the distance feels double.

It’s been a long time for her to exercise. She was sweating so much and out of breath. But finally she could entered the building after run as fast as she can. She stopped after some people staring at her with their suspicous eyes.

[Oh Jin-shim. Eventhough you leave the industry for a while, but you must not forget that you are ‘Oh Yoon-seo’. Because we don’t know when the reporters will notice us. Keep your dignity everywhere you go. Understand?]

CEO Yeon warned her. Jin-shim was motivated and will work hard to appear on Writer Lee Se-jin’s drama.

Jin-shim suddenly remembered that words and start to think twice.

She still had a long way to go. Would she run to the office without awareness with people’s eyes or walk peacefully as ‘Oh Yoon-seo’ with her dignity.

“....... There’s nothing I can do.”

She chose the latter.

“Good Morning.”

“Wow. It is you! Yes! Good morning too, Ms. Oh Yoon-seo.”

“I’m your fan!”

Jin-shim took off her sunglasses and smiled to 2 people, a man and a woman that smiled to her at lobby’s receptionist.

After that, she started walking slowly to the other way from the place she entered a few minutes ago. Of course her heart was beating so fast.

“I’m sure. I’ll get scolded.”

The fact that she would meet him with his cold eyes again make her heart beating so fast. Her future became hopeless. She wanted to give a deep sigh but she couldn’t and just swallowed it.

The work time had started, so all around the office become quiet. Just Jin-shim waited for elevator. But elevator stopped at 10th floor and seems like do not want to come down.

“Ms. Oh Yoon-seo?”

She was waiting elevator while staring only at electronic sign board. She turned her head when hearing a voice from her back.

‘Ah!’

When she looked back there is Always Law Firm’s CEO Yeon Joon-kyu. He smiled.

The higher people in the office and the one who offered her as Lawyer Kwon Jung-sok’s secretary. He is cousin of Jin-shim’s agency CEO Yeon Joon-seok. He is the only one who knows why Jin-shim doing this job.

Jin-shim greeted him quickly.

“Hello, Mr. CEO.”

“It’s you, Ms. Oh Yoon-seo. Are you going to work now?”

“Yes? Ah... Yes.”

Jin-shim kept looking sideways at CEO’s watch that accurately pointed at 9.42 AM. She smiled awkwardly.

‘I’m too late......’

She was sure he would scolded her for being late going to work. She closed her eyes.

“How was your day yesterday?”

“Yes?”

“Is it everyone nice to you? How was the work? Is it Ok? Have you tried eating at the cafeteria? Our office’s food well known so good.”

Elevator had arrived. All the way up, he kept asking about yesterday to Jin-shim.

She though he gonna asked about being late go to work. But different from her though, Jin-shim was surprised with his attitude and started answering his question.

“Everyone so kind and nice.”

Except one person.

“I haven’t go to cafeteria yet, Maybe I’ll go to there today.”

“Oh, Really?”

“I haven’t worked properly yet, So I can’t say anything to you Mr.”

“Haha. It’s Ok. Because you’re pretty smart whatever Lawyer Kwon asked, you can finished it well. I’ve asked other employee to helped you. If you can’t do that anymore just asked them to finished it.”

Thump-thump. Jin-shim’s heart was beating so fast while CEO Yeon smiled to her.

Jin-shim nodded her head as thankful to him.

For a few minutes later, elevator stopped at Always in 15th Floor. Because CEO’s room at 17th Floor, Jin-shim bowed to him once again and get out from elevator.

“I’m late. Very late.”

Pit-a-pat. Sound of her heartbeat became faster. More than yelling, a scornful gaze from Kwon Jung-rok’s face haunted her.

“If I know it will be like this, I’ll not surfing on the internet till late night.”

It had been a long time she didn't use computer and didn’t know anything what there. She punished herself by biting her lips. She greeted another lawyer and then go to Jung-rok’s office. She almost arrived in front of the door.

‘........... Oh?’

Knock Knock. She knocked several times. She opened the door because nobody answered even she knocked the door. She hesitated and breathe in. She entered the office.

“I’m sorry, Lawyer Kwon! Am I too late.......!”
